Malicious software in fake NIBHV emails

Fake emails are doing the rounds purporting to come from the Netherlands institute for first aid and safety services (Nederlands Instituut voor Bedrijfshulpverlening, NIBHV).

The file attachment contains malicious software. Its name is: The file is supposed to be an invoice, but it isn’t. The NIBHV has also issued a warning about these fake messages.

Here’s an example:

The subject line reads: ‘factuurnummer 1439983’ (invoice no 1439983).

Our advice
Please be on your guard when opening email file attachments sent by people you don’t know. As in this case, these files may contain malware, which could seriously harm your system.
